Springfield Indians 7 – Holyoke Astros 6

The Springfield Indians evened their series with the Holyoke Astros with a close 7-6 win on Sunday.

The Indians scored two in the top of the first on a Tom Burzynski single. Holyoke struck right back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning.

Brandan Marshall got one of his three hits to lead off the second inning, stealing 2nd and 3rd before scoring to put the Indians up 3-2. Holyoke tied the game in the 3rd on a Rey Reyes sac fly.

The Indians took the lead again in the 6th with a fielders choice ground ball by Adam Corey, and added to the lead with three runs in the 7th after a leadoff double by Pedro Clemente. Holyoke clawed back in the bottom of the 7th, beginning with an RBI single by Alex Baez followed by an RBI triple by Brandon Martin. After an RBI groundout to make the game 7-6, Kyle Devin finished the game for the Indians with a strikeout to cap off a complete game victory on the mound.

Game 3 will be played Monday, 5:45 pm at Van Horn #1.
