The Enfield Patriots defeated Yankee Sheet Metal 9-3 in the opening game of their playoff series Saturday.
Nixon threw a 3-hit complete game to earn the win, striking out 11. Rinaldi had a bases-clearing double to break the game open for Enfield.
Game 2 will be played Sunday, 11 am at Enfield High School.
