East Longmeadow Navigators 11 – Springfield Indians 6

The East Longmeadow Navigators defeated the Springfield Indians 11-6 on Sunday.
The Indians jumped out to an early lead 5-1 in the 4th fueled by a long Joe Bogli home run and the first of Tom Burzynski’s 3 hits. Kyle Maiolo added a double en route to his 2 for 3 day. He had 2 RBI and made a great defensive play at 3rd.
The Navs chipped away with single runs in the 2nd and 4th before Jeff Beturne,  Jono Robert, and John Boozang all reached on base hits to start the 5th. Jason Couture reached on a fielder’s choice then Axel Ofrey slapped a double that scored 2. Mikey Thomson then doubled to give the Navs the lead.
In the 6th Jeff Beturne walked then Jono Robert crushed a fastball to deep left for a 2-run homer. Boozang would double and score on a Jason Couture double to push the score to 11-5
The Indians battled back in the 7th, scoring a run on a walk and 2 singles, but Ofrey settled in and struck out the next 2 then induced a 4-3 ground out to end it.
